Had a feeling the valve stage would make things sound warm and that's exactly what I want to pair with the CDJs. There is a huge amount of headroom, especially on FX, that gives a lot of room for unique coloration and creativity. However, if I can be a little imprecise, I can tell there is a deepness that will develop over time. I haven't had experience with the Bozac or Urei, most of my comparison would be a Pioneer with built-in-effects and I'm still not entirely a rotary believer. However I bought the 4V because I wanted a crossfader for when I play techno and electro. I don't get a lot of use out of the per-channel EQ, in fact, the bass isolator knob is what I use 95% of the time to aid mixing. The sound is warm and large, sometimes almost too thick.

I'm still a little green on the rotary mixing, the equipment at my regular weekly gig was a Behringer linear, so this was a huge upgrade in sound quality. I've put about 30 hours of mixing on it via streaming and I use it for all my regular listening. I'm using it with 2x 1200s with Ortofon Concorde Club, sometimes with an iPad and microphone and Korg SDD-3000 for stereo FX. I purchased it at the beginning of the current pandemic, since I correctly expected that I'd be home for a lot of time. I wasn’t that taken with its digital filters tbh so I’m looking at PX5 too with a K2 maybe. The mc707 needs time to load projects so the loopers could be great. Never got into its midi side, that might be just the ticket with its loopers as I plan to use it exclusively with an mc707 or two. I had a DB4 for a week, but the matrix control was broken so sent it back. Oh I had a K2 with a Midi fighter, it’s a solid bit of gear and the headphones goes nice and loud too. I've seen a lot of DJs with expanded set ups use these as well. Of course it could be described as a plastic controller job. It's exactly not what you are asking for, but it's cheap, very configurable, has enough controls, compact and sits nicely beside a mixer.

I've never used one or heard one being used. The A&H Xone DB4 sends MIDI messages from all its controls and can double as a MIDI controller. I mean a sturdy mixer not one of these plastic controller jobs. I know A&H have a couple, but they just send click and about 6 controls. Interesting, sorry to derail, but can you guys recommend a DJ mixer with midi send from their controls.
